CHATTANOOGA (February 26, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team posted a thrilling 4-3 victory over Toledo during non-conference action inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center at The McCallie School in Chattanooga on Thursday afternoon.
 
With the win, Chattanooga improves to 3-5 on the season with two additional non-conference matches on tap this weekend. Toledo fell to 5-7 overall this season following its narrow defeat.
 
Match Recap
Julian Franzmann and Kristof Kincses took a commanding 6-1 win over Lucas Britez and Poonthong Komolpisut at No. 2 doubles to help create early momentum for Chattanooga. Following suit, Jaxon Lamb and Carter Ramthun claimed a 6-4 victory against Alejandro Gonzalez and Joshua Mackey at No. 3, clinching the early 1-0 lead for the Mocs.
 
In singles, it was a battle. The No. 6 match concluded first with Lamb falling to Pannaw Suttisomboon (6-3, 6-1) to even the match at 1-1. Toledo continued to build momentum as Cole Cozens defeated Kincses at No. 3 (6-4, 6-1) to give the Rockets a 2-1 lead.
 
Chattanooga responded as Franzmann secured a comeback win over Lucas Britez at No. 2 (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) to once agin pull the two teams into a tie, 2-2. Martin Delnido gave Chattanooga a 3-2 lead with a straight-set victory over Charlie Snow, (6-4, 7-5) at No. 4 before Toledo's Matias Olivero evened the match by edging out TJ Ryerson in a three-set battle at No. 5 (6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1).
 
The decisive match on main court No. 1 saw Chattanooga's Jakub Jupa outlast Toledo's Komolpisut (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4) in a three-set thriller, clinching the match for hosts in the process.
