BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Chattanooga Mocs women's indoor track and field team turned in a strong showing at the UAB Green & Gold Invitational, highlighted by a program-record performance from
Halle Carden in the high jump.

Carden cleared 5 feet, 7.25 inches (1.71 meters) to place second in the event, setting a new Chattanooga indoor high jump record. Her mark surpassed the previous program best of 5 feet, 6 inches, which had stood for more than two decades after being set by Anna Hutcherson in 1999 and matched by Alison Frese in 2004. The jump also marked a personal record for Carden.

On the track, the Mocs posted several top finishes and personal bests throughout the meet.
Maddie Wheatcroft led the way in the distance events with a runner-up finish in the mile, clocking a personal-best time of 4:56.56.
Leah Boyd Mitchell followed closely behind in third at 5:03.18, while
Anna Roberson and
Olivia Steele added solid efforts in the event.

Chattanooga also found success in the 3000 meters, where
Lola Baker,
Scarlett Nash, and
Ellie von Herrmann each recorded personal records.
Aubrey Park led the Mocs in the event at 10:37.27 followed by Baker with a time of 10:39.61 and Nash at 10:43.99. von Herrmann posted a time of at 10:46.84.

In the sprints,
Ryleigh Simmons advanced to the finals of the 60 meters, finishing seventh overall with a time of 7.73 after qualifying at 7.72 in the prelims. Simmons also competed in the 200 meters, while
Norah Haney turned in a personal-best performance in the event at 28.22 seconds.

The Mocs saw additional contributions across the board in the middle-distance races, with
Taylor Crawford and
Maya McCloskey competing in the 800 meters. McCloskey posted a personal-best time of 2:25.42.

In the field events,
Stella Henry paced Chattanooga in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 8.75 inches (5.40 meters). Carden also competed in the triple jump, recording a mark of 35 feet, 1.25 inches (10.70 meters) to add to her standout day.

The meet concluded with the Mocs' 4x400-meter relay team finishing in 4:15.02.

Next up for Chattanooga is the Samford Bulldog Invite (2/13) and the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge (2/13-14).
