STATESBORO, Ga. (February 8, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team fell 6-1 on the road at Georgia Southern Sunday afternoon at the Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro, Ga.
 
After the defeat, Chattanooga drops to 0-2 to begin the 2026 spring season. Georgia Southern improves to 2-1 following Sunday's victory.
 
Match Recap
In doubles, Georgia Southern's Matthew Mitchell and Edoardo Santoni defeated Jaxon Lamb and Carter Ramthun 6-3 at No. 3 to set the tone. Gregoire Delattre and Davis Taylor's 6-4 win over Cortland Grove and Jakub Jupa at the top doubles pairing secured the 1-0 GSU lead. Julian Franzmann and Kristof Kincses earned a 6-4 win over Willy Mirarchi and Albert Saar at No. 2.
 
In singles action, Georgia Southern extended their lead with Edoardo Santoni's straight-set victory over Martin Delnido, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3, followed by Mirarchi's 6-4, 6-3 win against Grove at No. 4. Chattanooga responded as Kincses secured a 6-3, 6-4 win over Taylor at No. 5 to put the Mocs on the board.
 
Georgia Southern continued their momentum at No. 6, as Albert Widell edged out Lamb in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 7-6 (4). The home team clinched the victory with Saar's come-from-behind win over Franzmann, 3-6, 7-5, 10-6, at No. 2. Delattre capped off the performance, defeating Jupa in a tense three-set match, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8, at No. 1 singles, sealing a 6-1 victory for Georgia Southern.
