RECAP: Wrestlers Dominant on a Sunday in North Carolina

Cooper Flynn and the Chattanooga Mocs swept a Southern Conference doubleheader in shutout fashion at Campbell.

Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs cruised to shutout wins at Campbell Sunday afternoon. The Mocs captured all 20 matches with 17 earning bonus points in a dominant performance. It gives the program three straight shutout victories for just the second time in school history. The group also set a new standard with 32 consecutive individual match triumphs.

Breakdown
  • 32 straight individual match wins. Longest streak eclipsing 30 in 2022. They did it with 56 bonus points added for an average of 4.75 points per win.
  • Second 3-match shutout streak in school history. The last time the Mocs was Feb. 13-18, 2022. Those wins came at home over VMI (47-0) and Presbyterian (49-0) before going on the road to topple Bellarmine (44-0).
  • Allowed just nine points throughout Campbell match, all on escapes. Mocs held a 73-9 advantage in match scoring. 18-0 on takedowns against the Camels.
  • The Blue Hose managed 14 points with one takedown, 10 escapes and one penalty. UTC dominated with a 124-14 tally amassing 25 takedowns.
  • The 52 points tallied against Presbyterian are the most against a DI opponent since a 52-0 win over Davidson in Charleston, S.C., on Feb. 20, 1994.
  • 99-0 scoreline is the best back-to-back against DI competition since 1983 (114-0): 60-0 at Furman & 54-0 vs The Citadel (at Furman) on Feb. 12.
  • Of the day's 20 wins, just three were by decision. There were three majors, six techs, five falls and three forfeits (2 medical).
  • Top scorer? Cavarius Liddie and Cooper Flynn scored 12 points via forfeits (Campbell) and falls (Presbyterian). Mason Reiniche (11), Landon Jones (10), Hunter Mason (10) & Yuta Otero (10) also scored in double digits.
