Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team moved up into a tie for third in the 79th Western Intercollegiate. The Mocs fired a 4-under 346 to move up to 4 under after 36 holes at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Sophomore Thad Whitfield led the way with a 3-under 67.
 
The Mocs are tied with 24th-ranked BYU and UNLV. The trio wis 12 out of the lead held by USC with Cal in second at 12 under.

Notes

• 10th straight par or better team round adds to school record.
• 13 under (4.13) on the par 5s today on the counting cards.
• Moving Day! The Mocs climbed four spots on the leaderboard. Two biggest moves by individuals came from Whitfield (27) and Braidech (26).
• Whitfield's 67 is his career-best 18.
• Bounced back from a slow start to make the turn at 9 under. Reached 10 under through 13 before battling through the final five holes.
• 19 birdies on the day with three eagles. Mocs played par or better on 81.1 percent of holes (73/90). That ties the UTC record at Pasatiempo for yesterday's round and the second 18 in 2024.
• Wednesday's final round starts at 1:16 p.m., Eastern Time for the Mocs.
