Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team finished a strong seventh in the 79th Western Intercollegiate. The Mocs final round 356 gave the squad a total of 1,052 with five scores counting per day at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Sophomore Thad Whitfield led the way with a 3-under 67.
 
Freshman Evan Rogers was low man shooting 5-under 205, his low total of the season. He completed his first Western experience with 67 today to finish tied for seventh.

Notes

• 14 over through eight holes. Played 8 under the rest of the way.
• The 6 over day snapped a school record string of 10 straight par or better team scores.
• Rogers' 205 was a season best. He's 9 under over his last four events (70.33), all par or better finishes.
• It's his fourth top 10 of the campaign. That's the most by a freshman since Jonathan Hodge '09 who had five in 2005-06.
• Harris' level-par 210 is his fifth consecutive par or better finish. He's 2 under for the season.
• Rogers ended up with 16 birdies over his three cards. That tied three others for most in the event.
• Harris (12) and Whitaker (11) also reach double digits.
• Rogers and Briadech tied for the tourney lead in others with one apiece. Every player in the field had at least one score at double bogey or higher at Pasatiempo.
• All six Mocs had at least one par or better card over the three rounds.
• Rogers was second in the field in par 4 scoring (3.80).
• Whitaker averaged 4.22 strokes per par 5 as his 7 under was one off the tourney's best number.
• The Mocs have a team dual with UAB in Huntsville on April 21 as a final tune up for the Southern Conference Championships (April 27-29).
