CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga softball team hits the road for the first of two weekend Southern Conference series in North Carolina. This weekend, the Mocs will travel to Cullowhee, N.C., to take on the Western Carolina Catamounts in a three game series.
The teams will meet Saturday in a doubleheader and conclude with the final game on Sunday. Both days will start at 1:00 p.m. All the action can be found online at GoMocs.com.

CHATTANOOGA vs. WESTERN CAROLINA
The Mocs lead the series 51-11 dating back to 2006. The Catamounts snapped the Mocs five-game win streak in the series with back-to-back wins last season to claim the series. In Cullowhee, UTC is 22-2 against Western.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are 18-21-1 on the year and 6-6 in Southern Conference play. UTC is hitting .303 as a team with 314 hits that include 14 home runs, seven triples and 50 doubles with 169 RBIs.
Ava Cowart leads the Mocs with a .382 batting average. She has 11 RBI, three doubles, is 13-of-14 for stolen bases and has a team-high 30 runs scored.
Baileigh Pitts is hitting .378 with a team-leading four home runs, 25 RBI, two triples and nine doubles. She's been walked 21 times and is 3-for-3 for stolen bases.
Mia Leone leads Chattanooga with 31 RBI on four home runs and 10 doubles and is hitting .294.

Taylor Long has a team-best eight wins with 10 complete games and three shutouts along with a no-hitter. She has 129 strikeouts in 106 innings pitched. She leads the SoCon with 8.5 strikeouts per seven innings
ABOUT WESTERN CAROLINA
The Catamounts are 27-17 overall and tied for second in the SoCon standings at 8-4. Overall the team is hitting .310 on 56 home runs, six triples and 56 doubles with 262 RBIs.
Maya McPherson leads the Southern Conference with a .453 batting average and a league-best 16 home runs and 54 RBI. Sydney Dirks is second on the team with a .370 batting average with 12 home runs and 47 RBI. Lily Bell is third with a .338 batting average, has a .405 on-base percentage and is 21-of-27 for stolen bases.
In the circle, the Cats have a combined 4.41 ERA led by Amanda Fulton (2.33). She is 13-5 in 30 appearances with 12 complete games, four saves and one shutout. She has 132 strikeouts in 132.1 innings pitched.
