CULLOWHEE, N.C. --- Chattanooga senior
Maddie Wheatcroft picked up another All-Conference honor Tuesday on the final day of the Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Western Carolina.

The 1500 meter preliminary race was canceled Monday after scratches brought the number down to 16 and went straight to the final. Wheatcroft started out running with the pack at the front. As the front runners pulled away, she began to battle it out with Furman's Zoi Lamanna for third. She pulled away in the final 400 meters to secure the podium finish with a personal best time of 4:26.19.

Ryleigh Simmons took fourth in the 100 meter dash, just missing a podium finish by 0.01 seconds making down the track in a time of 11.95 seconds. She placed fifth in the 200 meter with a time of 24.44.

Norah Haney moved up a spot Tuesday in the heptathlon to finish seventh overall with 4033 points.

She jumped a distance of 5.06 meters [16-07.24] to place sixth in the long jump. She followed that with a decisive first place finish in the javelin with a throw of 35.55 meters [116-07] on her final throw of the day. In the 800 meter, Haney moved up from sixth to fourth at the finish line to bump her points total to over 4000.

The Mocs 4x400 meter team of
Kolbee Webb,
Taylor Crawford, Maya McCroskey and
Ava McGue ran a season-best time of 4:06.34. On the final leg, McGue shifted into a higher gear and the 400-meter runner overtook The Citadel's anchor, moving up a spot in the final order.
