SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Sophomore Quinn Johnson was selected to the Southern Conference Coaches Preseason All-Conference Team, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Johnson was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year in 2025, the second in program history. The Vancouver, British Columbia rookie was third on the team in scoring with 12 points on five goals and two assists. She was named the league Player of the Week in October after recording a brace against VMI and a goal against Furman.
 
As well as Player of the Year, she was named to the SoCon All-Conference Second Team and All-Freshman Team.
 
Chattanooga was selected fifth by a narrow one-point margin, finishing with 67 points behind Western Carolina (68) and ahead of Mercer (66). Samford received 10 first place votes for 100 points while Furman picked up one for 80 points and tied with ETSU (80) for second in the poll. UNC Greensboro (43) finished seventh in the poll followed by newcomer Tennessee Tech (40), Wofford (32), The Citadel (19) and VMI (10).
 
UTC placed fourth overall last season, behind Samford, Western Carolina and ETSU.
 
The Mocs open the season at home Wednesday, August 12 against UT Martin. The match is slated to kick off at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to all Chattanooga Mocs soccer home matches. Entrance is through the St. Elmo (South) Gate.
