CHATTANOOGA (August 19, 2026) --- With the summer offseason in full swing, multiple Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball alums competing in the professional ranks have found new homes, new deals and new leagues over the past few weeks as we check in with the recent transactions.

NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS
August 17 – Malachi Smith ('22) signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors (NBA) on August 17. Smith made his NBA debut last season with the Brooklyn Nets, appearing in 15 games (four starts) while averaging 8.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
 
August 10 – Jake Stephens ('23) was named to the 2026 NBA G League United Team on August 10. Stephens competed with the Phoenix Suns (NBA) in the summer league in July. G League United will travel to Shanghai for a pair of exhibition games on August 28 and 30 before competing in the 2026 FIBA Intercontinental Cup from September 22-27 in Beijing.
 
August 5 – David Jean-Baptiste ('22) signed with AEO Proteas Voulas (Greece – Elite League – Second Tier) on August 5. Jean-Baptiste spent the past three seasons with Team FOG Naestved of the Danish BasketLigaen and finished the most recent season averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 40 games.

July 24 – Frank Champion ('25) signed a two-year contract with MLP Academics Heidelberg (German ProA – First Division) on July 24. Champion was named the 2026 Star Player of the Year in the Finnish Korisliiga after averaging 21.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists for team Korihait in his first professional season.
