Press Conference Tuesday Ahead of SoCon Home Opener

Orlando Daniels (pictured) was joined by Ashton Schumann and Coach Rusty Wright as the Chattanooga Mocs held their weekly press conference ahead of Saturday’s home game with Wofford.
The Chattanooga Mocs football team is hard at work preparing for the start of Southern Conference play. That comes this Saturday as the Wofford Terriers visit Finley Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., and broadcasts on ESPN+ as well as over the airwaves on the Mocs Sports Network.

Every Tuesday during game weeks this season, the Mocs hold a press conference with coverage from the Times Free Press, Channels 3, 9 & 12, along with WUTC radio and various radio and television talents. This week featured Coach Rusty Wright leading off followed by senior defensive end Orlando Daniels and senior wide receiver Ashton Schumann.
Daniels and the defensive line look to continue to grow and develop. The work up front has served the next two levels of the defense well. It's an overall unit that ranks in the top 10 nationally in total defense allowing just 283.3 yards per contest including a SoCon-leading 154.0 yards per game passing.
Schumann is the squad's leading receiver with 11 catches for 212 yards and a score. He's had receptions of 59 and 72 yards in the early going. His 19.3 yards per catch leads the SoCon and ranks 31st in the country.
