Rogers Claims SoCon Honor After 2nd Career Win

Sophomore Evan Rogers is this week’s Southern Conference Golfer of the Week after leading the Chattanooga Mocs at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate while earning medalist honors.
Chattanooga Mocs sophomore Evan Rogers is the Southern Conference Golfer of the Week. Rogers won the individual trophy at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate while leading the team to a top 3 finish.
It was a stacked field with 13 of the 17 teams in attendance coming off NCAA Regionals appearances in the spring including eight that advanced to the championships at La Costa. There were three top 10 and five top 20 total in the golf preseason polls.
Rogers put together a nearly error-free performance. He collected an eagle, 10 birdies and 41 pars to offset just two bogeys for the week. That included playing bogey free on his final 44 holes.
It's his second SoCon Golfer of the Week Award. He also won on April 8 following his first collegiate win at the Racer Intercollegiate.

- Career-low 200 total for his 54 holes. That's the fourth-best tally in program history.
- 10 under is his second lowest score vs par. The top was the 12-under 204 he shot to tie for fourth last May at the NCAA Bryan Regionals.
- Shot 67, 67 & 66 for his 3 rounds. 1st time in his career with three rounds in the 60s in a collegiate event.
- Averaged 66.67 strokes per round which beat the field by 4.34 (71.01) shots per 18 or 13 strokes total.
- 2nd collegiate win. 12th Moc to win multiple times in their career.
- Rogers is 35 under in his last 24 collegiate rounds with seven par or better finishes. That's a 69.92 stroke average over that span.
