Chattanooga swept UT Martin before having the result flip versus North Alabama
FLORENCE, Ala. - Chattanooga hit the road for the first time, traveling to North Alabama for the Noona Kennard Invitational. In their first two games of the weekend, the Mocs swept UT Martin before falling in three to North Alabama in the nightcap.

Chattanooga moves to 4-15 all-time against UT Martin and has won two in a row in the series… The Mocs also move to 3-7 all-time against the Skyhawks on a neutral court.
UTC drops to 3-5 all-time against North Alabama… The Mocs' three-match winning streak against the Lions ended tonight… The match marked the first meeting between the two schools in Florence.
Chattanooga 3, UT Martin 0
Chattanooga came out firing, scoring the first nine points of the match behind three service aces from Ashley Reynolds. The Mocs cruised the rest of the first set to a 25-15 win as UT Martin only got as close as eight points the rest of the way. UTC hit .368 in the opening set.
In the second set, Chattanooga rode its momentum from set one as it took an early 6-2 lead with the help of kills from Delaney Wingenbach, Addison Walker, Gracie Rose, and Jordin Glass. As the Mocs continued to move forward, another kill by Rose pushed them ahead double-digits at 16-6. UT Martin at the end held off five set points for UTC, but it was far too late as the Blue and Gold won set two 25-14.
Chattanooga had to work more to win the third set as UT Martin led by three points at 9-6 and at 13-10. As the set continued, four consecutive Chattanooga points capped off by a kill from Rose gave it a 16-14 lead. The Mocs did not give up their lead the rest of the way as they won 25-21 to clinch the three-set sweep. Kynli Kirkendoll delivered a service ace for the winning point.

Kirkendoll anchored the Mocs' attack with a season-high 11 kills while holding a .579 hitting percentage. She also led the team with three total blocks at the net.

Rose and Walker also had notable performances with eight kills apiece. Walker's eight kills set a new career high.

The senior duo of Reynolds and Caiti Barthel delivered in their particular roles with Reynolds posting 28 assists while Barthel contributed 16 digs.

Chattanooga outhit UT Martin 34-27 and had a .313 hitting percentage to UT Martin's .043 hitting percentage.

The Mocs totaled a season-high 10 service aces in the win, led by Reynolds' four service aces and Caroline Peterson's three service aces.
Chattanooga 0, North Alabama 3
North Alabama playing on its home court came out firing, scoring eight of the first nine points of the match. The Mocs played even with the Lions for much of the remainder of the set, but the early run for the home side proved to be the difference as they won 25-14. The first set turned out to be UNA's most efficient offensive display, hitting at a rate of .414.
Bailey Burgess and Destiny Wiggins each had kills early on in the second set to steady the ship as the Mocs trailed just by one point at 6-5. Chattanooga stayed close with the help of kills from Walker and Burgess as the set progressed with the score reading 16-14 North Alabama. However, when it mattered most it was UNA who did what it had to, as it extended its lead to eventually win 25-18. 21 of North Alabama's 25 points in the set were recorded as kills.
A 4-0 run to start the third set behind two service aces from Glass gave Chattanooga some life in the third set. Chattanooga kept its lead until the score was 10-10 after back-to-back kills from the Lions. The two teams went back-and-forth as a kill by Kirkendoll tied the set back up at 19. UNA then scored the next three points before closing out a 25-22 win to clinch the sweep, it's sixth in a row to start the 2026 season.

Leading the Mocs' attack was Kirkendoll with eight kills on the night.

Dylann Garner led UNA with 18 kills while Reese Ricketts had 15 kills.

"The first match I thought was a good warm-up for the evening match. Kynli Kirkendoll and Gracie Rose played very well. We had a bright spot from Addison Walker as well."
On the performance against North Alabama
"The evening match was a different story. They (North Alabama) have not dropped a set yet and their efficient attacking was on display. We improved as the match went along and tried different lineups, but ultimately couldn't dig and convert. Our passing was solid, so I was disappointed we didn't do better on first ball side outs."
