- Senior year he led the Tigers to a 29-4 record making first team All-Region as AHS captured region title… averaged 12.2 points per game as a senior leading team to TSSAA Class AAA Final Four.
- Pepsi Best of Preps as junior and finalist for Athlete of the Year as a senior.
- Scored a season-high 22 points at Dyer County making five three-pointers.
- First 1,000-point scorer in school history breaking the scoring record as a junior.
- 3-year football letter winner…caught 30 passes for 520 yards and six touchdowns as a senior wide receiver.

- Son of Kelvin, Sr., and Monica Bates…has a younger sister Karlee.
- Graduated high school with honors posting 4.1 GPA…member of the Beta Club and earned Academic Distinction award.
- Musically inclined, he played the violin for seven years and plays a little piano.
- Plans to major in Biochemistry.
