Box Score The women's tennis team won its second consecutive match and ran its home-court record to 5-3 Wednesday with a 7-0 shutout of Austin Peay State.
The Lady Mocs, now 7-8 overall, swept the doubles matches and did not lose a set in single competition to complete the shutout.
The Governors, 0-10, won four or more games in just two sets as Chattanooga produced three 6-0 sets and won two matches with 6-0, 6-1 scores.
Senior Lindsey Ballard claimed her team-best 10th singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Mariana Pagan at No. 1 singles. Freshman Grace Robinette battled back from a 5-1 deficit in the second set for a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 over Michelle Liew, and senior Bonnie Adams registered a 7-5, 6-0 win over Morgan Klieber at the No. 3 spot.
Junior Beata Knizat and freshman Annie Green won their respective singles matches at No. 4 and No. 5 by identical 6-0, 6-1 scores. Sophomore Kate Ksiezopolski defeated Mary Beth Lefler, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
Chattanooga hits the road this weekend, visiting High Point Saturday for its third straight non-conference match then take on UNC Greensboro Sunday at noon in Greensboro, N.C., in a Southern Conference matchup.
