Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The women's tennis team won its first Southern Conference match of the season Saturday by claiming the doubles point and four of six singles matches for a 5-2 victory over Appalachian State.
Lindsey Ballard, Grace Robinette and Arianna Sanjines were double winners for the Lady Mocs, who improve to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the SoCon.
Ballard and Robinette teamed up to win their No. 1 doubles match, Sanjines was paired with Beata Knizat for a doubles win at No. 2 and Ballard, Robinette and Sanjines picked up singles wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 respectively.
Senior Bonnie Adams defeated Appalachian's Amanda Cash, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to clinch the win for Chattanooga.
Ballard, a senior, was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Monica Tomas, freshman Robinette earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Lindsay King and freshman Sanjines defeated Mallory Cook, 6-4, 6-4.
The Lady Mocs travel to Charleston, S.C., this coming weekend to take on Charleston Southern Saturday and the College of Charleston Sunday.
