CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's tennis will play host to instate foe Middle Tennessee Friday evening at the Hixson Racquet Club and the men's team will hit the road for two matches at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational in Richmond, Ky.

The Lady Mocs are 2-1 on the year with wins over Belmont and UNC Asheville and are looking to bounce back from their loss to SEC foe Alabama last week in Tuscaloosa.

Last season, Chattanooga managed just one win in its match against MTSU in Murfreesboro, falling 6-1 to the Blue Raiders. UTC's top four players are all freshmen led by Shaina Singh at the top spot and Emily Hangstefer at No. 2. Both have 2-1 singles records and as a doubles pair, are 2-1 on the year.

The match is set to begin at 5 p.m. Friday at the Hixson Racquet Club. Results will be available on GoMocs.com.

The Mocs will hit the road for the second straight week to take part in the Eastern Kentucky Invitational. UTC fell to a strong Middle Tennessee State team in Nashville in its season-opener last week and will look to rebound this weekend at the EKU Invitational. Seniors Pavel Vostrikov and Peter Sauska will lead a young Chattanooga squad.

The Mocs (0-1) will take on Xavier Friday afternoon in a 3 p.m. matchup followed by a Saturday match against host Eastern Kentucky slated to start at 9:30 a.m.
