Head Coach Frank Reed
On the tough day:
"I thought our wakeup call was last week when we went 11 innings with Georgia Southern and found a way to win. I really thought we had found a way to win again today, which we should have. It was my fault that we didn't win the second game. I made the wrong decision when I should have stayed with Kandice (Irwin) instead of bringing in Brooke (Loudermilk) during the seventh inning. I was hoping for a quick strikeout to get out of the inning. Instead, she put the tying runner on base and walked another kid. Our pitchers just didn't do their job."

On what the Phoenix did today:
"Elon is a great team. I don't know how they lost four [conference] ballgames, I really don't. They may be the best team in the conference, at least they were today."

On preparing for tomorrow:
"Our pitchers have to stop giving up hits. We have to go home, think about these games and come back tomorrow ready to play."

Junior Third Baseman Tiffany Baker
On the series finale Sunday:
"We just have to come back tomorrow and pull a win off somehow. Just getting hits isn't working for us. We have to go out there and hit the ball early. The pitchers and defense need to get their jobs done."

On the homerun:
"It was a mistake pitch. It was a 3-0 pitch that she just left over the plate. I usually don't take before I get a strike. I look for one pitch and that was it."

On Elon pitcher Kari Pervell:
"She was throwing a changeup every two pitches, depending on who you were. She was keeping it low so we were having trouble adjusting to her."
