Box Score The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match at Samford today. The Lady Mocs fall to 7-11 overall and 3-5 in Southern Conference action. The Bulldogs improved to 14-5 on the season and 6-1 in league play.
The Bulldogs swept doubles play for a 1-0 lead. It was the first time UTC had been swept in doubles since a March 6 loss at UNC Greensboro. It was also the first loss of the season for senior Beata Knizat and junior Annie Green. UTC's No. 3 duo was 7-0 entering today's action.
Sophomore Shaina Singh posted the only win of the afternoon for Chattanooga. She defeated Andrie Meiring 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 to improve to 16-11 on the year.
The Lady Mocs return to Chattanooga for a pair of matches over the weekend. UTC hosts Mercer on Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) on the UTC Tennis Courts. Chattanooga also welcomes Georgia Southern on Sunday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. on the UTC Tennis Courts. Live scoring will be available for both matches this weekend.
