Head Coach Lisa Rhodes
On the North Florida match:

“We just came out extremely flat this morning and were just going through the motions. In the third set, we made a change and had a little bit more energy with Tess (Kosycarz) running the offense. We just missed the win in the fifth set. It was a wonderful comeback after playing so poorly in the first two sets and at least push it to five sets. I was happy with the way the team responded.”

On the Illinois-Chicago match:
“I think that we beat a pretty strong UIC team. We just had so much more energy on the floor with Meagan (Ernd) on the outside and Tess as the setter. Then, Tina (Christina Teter) did a fantastic job on the right side and had a career-high in hitting percentage. Jennifer Kuroski had a career-high with 19 kills. Courtney's serve was really tough for us and she had five serving aces, which was a career-high.”

On what you saw in freshman setter Tess Kosycarz against North Florida:
“We just were moving slow. I felt like we were at a point where we need to make a change. She did a great job with stepping in. She is earning her spot because her serve was extremely tough. They also had a hard time handling her serve. I think for a freshman she did an outstanding job in decision making and it was a good move on our part.”

On the emergence of sophomore right side Christina Teter over the past couple of matches:
“She is a big presence on the right side for us against opposing outside hitters. She does a fantastic job blocking and Tess is very comfortable setting to her. Tina just has to get a little faster to keep up with Tess because her sets are pretty quick. At times, she just did not transition or get back, but for some reason we made it happen and she got kills anyway.”

On generating some consistency with getting kills:
“We need the kills. We have just been really inconsistent so far this season. I think we started out today with having six or eight kills and that is something we have to work on. Our hitters need to learn how to find the floor more consistently. This morning, we just did not hit the ball really well at all and did not even really challenge them (UNF) until that third set.”

On senior middle blocker Courtney Barnes' slow start, but strong finish against Illinois-Chicago:
“She may not have made any changes, but she was able to work around the block a little more as the match progressed. Their middles were staying more with her, so that really opened up a lot of things with Jennifer, which gave her an opportunity to get a lot of kills.”
