NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's and women's cross country teams received All-Academic Honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this week.

The Mocs, with a team GPA of 3.46, ranked 15^th among all NCAA Division I schools and posted the highest GPA of the eight Southern Conference schools represented on the list that included UNCG, Davidson, College of Charleston, Western Carolina, Furman, Elon and Appalachian State.

A total of 152 institutions represent 31 conferences that compose the group. The Big 12 led all conferences with 10 members earning All-Academic honors and was followed by the Big East which had nine listed.

Mississippi Valley State reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.62. Southern Illinois followed with a 3.60.

On the women's side, the Lady Mocs posted a team GPA of 3.59, ranking 22^nd among all NCAA Division I schools and second highest GPA of the nine Southern Conference schools represented on the list that included Elon, Wofford, Samford, Western Carolina, Appalachian State, College of Charleston, Furman and UNCG.

A total of 192 institutions represent 30 conferences that compose the group. The Big East led all conferences with 12 members earning All-Academic honors and was followed by the Big 12 and Big Ten who each placed 11 on the list.

Alabama reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.88. Arkansas State and Missouri State were next in the category at 3.70.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five regional at their respective NCAA regional championship.
