Harrison (Nashville, Tenn.) and sophomore shortstop Jessica
Traxler (Chino Hills, Calif.) notched two-RBI singles, while seven Lady
Mocs registered base hits including two by Tydingco.
After a walk
to Stiles and a seeing eye single down the left field line to lead off the
game, Fuzzard delivered her third three-run home run in the first inning this
season over the fence in left center.
Senior third
baseman Tiffany
Baker (East Ridge, Tenn.) used a good eye to trot down to first, then
Tydingco singled on a line shot to third. Both runners moved up 60 feet on a
wild pitch and Baker scored on a single through the right side by Harrison.
Following
walks to freshman catcher Natalie
Powers (Gleenpool, Okla.) and senior left fielder Lauren
Flores (Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.), Stiles beat out an infield single to short
putting the Lady Mocs up, 5-0, but Powers was out at the plate trying to add an
insurance run.

Tydignco advanced on a fielder's choice. A sacrifice fly to left scored pinch
runner Layne
Rainey (Clarksville, Tenn.) and the runners moved up a base. Traxler
cleared the bases with a single up the middle and the Lady Mocs took an 8-0
lead.
During the
bottom-half of the second, Rutgers notched a single by Mandi Craig, but the
Scarlet Knights went down in order as Poteat caught a soft liner at second and
doubled off the runner at first.
The Lady
Mocs retired quickly in the third as Rutgers right fielder Mikelyn Messina made
a diving catch into foul territory to rob Flores of a base hit.
Rutgers
broke through in the third drawing a walk and then two base hits right back up
the middle scored a run before Fuzzard was able to retire the side.

the fourth, Fuzzard hit a frozen rope just over the fence in left center, 9-1.
The blast tied the team lead with Baker at six and it was the 19th of her
career.

bottom of the fourth, the Scarlet Knights scored three runs on three hits
chasing Fuzzard from the circle as Irwin came on in relief to retire the side.
Chattanooga
loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth, but was unable to extend its lead.
With runners
on first and second in the sixth for Rutgers, second baseman Poteat made up for
an earlier error in the frame by turning a double play. Then, the runner at
third broke for home on a ball that was in the dirt and the catcher Powers was
able to get back in time to apply the tag diving across the plate.
The Lady
Mocs ended the game on a high in the seventh as Stiles drew a one out walk and
stole her 17th base of the season. Stiles scored on a single up the middle by
Poteat, who advanced to second and later took third on a wild pitch. A single
down the first base line that was picked up by the first baseman and gunned to
the plate, but Poteat beat the throw as Chattanooga took a 11-4 lead. The frame

out of the air and double off the runner at first.

with a walk and Morimoto singled off the wall in right. On a fielder's choice
to short off the bat of pinch hitter Jenni Martin (East Ridge, Tenn.), Dutton
was tagged out on a run down, but Martin took second so the Lady Mocs had two
runners in scoring position.

delivered a run with a single up to left, 9-1. The Lady Mocs ended the inning
with just one run, but were able to shutdown Colorado State in the top of the
