TEAM
- The Mocs got their first Southern Conference win of the season with a 78-62 win against Western Carolina...UTC improves to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in league action...WCU falls to 7-8 overall and 2-1 in the SoCon.
- The Mocs used a 20-2 over the last seven minutes of the game to close out the win.
- Chattanooga trailed 60-58 with 6:59 left before shutting down WCU. The Catamounts did not score again until mop-up time on a layup by Trey Sumler with 31 seconds left...UTC held Western Carolina to 0-7 from the field and 0-4 from 3-pt. range during that scoreless streak.
- The Mocs closed out the final six minutes 7-10 from the field, all from inside the arc, and 6-6 from the FT line...UTC had five assists on its final seven FGs...the Mocs scored on six consecutive layups during that span.
- UTC grabbed 50 boards in the game...it is the second time this season UTC has totals 50+ boards in a game (56 vs. Longwood).
- WCU hit a season-high 12 3-pt. FGs in the game...the Catamounts started out 7-13 from behind the arc, but hit just 5-22 the rest of the game to finish 12-25 (34.3%).
- The Mocs were just 6-16 (37.5%) from deep, their second lowest total from behind the line this season (2 at Butler)...the 16 attempts was also the second-fewest this season (14 at Butler).
- Chattanooga's 12 turnovers ties for the second fewest this season.
- The Mocs were whistled for just eight fouls, a season low.
- This was UTC's fifth-straight win at home in the series with WCU...the last time Chattanooga lost to the Catamounts in the Roundhouse was a 67-73 setback on Jan. 8, 2007.
- WCU shot 24-60 (40.0%) from the floor...it is the fifth game in a row UTC has held its opponent to 40% or less from the field.
INDIVIDUAL
Senior Keegan Bell
- Tied for game-high with 12 assists.
- Added eight points on 3-9 shooting, 2-6 from 3-pt. range.
- Has 38 assists against 10 turnovers in the last four games.
- Also had four rebounds and two steals.
Senior Jahmal Burroughs
- Four points and five boards in 19 minutes.
- Four offensive rebounds.
- 2-3 from the field.
- 18 boards in the last three games...averaged just 1.9 per game before that stretch.
Junior Dontay Hampton
- 11 points on 2-4 shooting, 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 6-9 from the FT line.
- Added three boards in 11 minutes off the bench.
Senior Ricky Taylor
- 15 points on 5-12 shooting, 5-6 from the FT line.
- Added eight rebounds.
- 11th straight game in double figures...10+ points in all but two games this season.
- 20 rebounds in last three games.
Senior Omar Wattad
- 12 points on 4-11 shooting, 3-6 from 3-pt. range and 1-2 from the FT line.
- Added six rebounds...one shy of a career-high.
- Fourth straight game in double figures.
- 18-35 (51.4%) from behind the arc last four games.
- Seventh game in a row with 3+ threes.
Junior Drazen Zlovaric
- Second double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 boards.
- Career-highs for points and rebounds.
- Shot 9-13 from the field and 1-2 from the FT line.
- Most FGs in a game by a Moc this season.
