Women’s Golf Returns to Tee Monday in Georgia

The Chattanooga Mocs tee it up for the second tourney of the year this week.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team was headed to Charleston, S.C., this week for the CSU Invitational. Due to Hurricane Joaquin's assault on the east coast, the tournament has shifted course to Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, Ga.
The event still plans for 54 holes over two days with 36 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
"The shift in venue is different, but everyone is in the same boat as us," coach Colette Murray stated. "We're ready to get out there Monday and work on putting together three complete rounds."
While it is an unfamiliar layout for the team members, it is not for Murray. Her last visit to Chateau Elan, her 2008 squad captured the Larry Nelson Collegiate by three shots.
Emily McLennan, Cris Perez, Monica San Juan and Megan Woods return to the lineup with the addition of senior Isabella Loza. The Mocs tee off No. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. Loza leads off followed by San Juan, Woods, Perez and McLennan.

A Look Back & a Look Ahead
Last Time Out: The team opened the season with a 12th-place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Championships in Knoxville. They opened shooting 295 and 294 on the first day before a final round 319. Emily McLennan was low individual tying for 34th shooting 223 (72-71-80).
Next Up: We head back to the Carolinas in a week for the Pinehurst Challenge. Hosted by College of Charleston, the tourney competes on Pinehurst No. 1 with 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 12, and a final 18 on Tuesday.
