Andrew Weathers and the Chattanooga Mocs are at famed Firestone Country Club for the Firestone Invitational Monday and Tuesday.

CHATTANOOGA---It's back to the tee Monday for the Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team, and they couldn't find too finer a locale. The quintet takes on famed Firestone Country Club albeit on the less famous North Course.
"This is a special place," coach Mark Guhne stated. "The North Course has hosted its share of top events. It is an honor for our guys to play and follow in the footsteps of the top golfers in the history of the game who have all played here.
"Hopefully we'll find some inspiration in that. We took a step forward in Arizona, and I expect our guys are ready to take another this week."
This week's starting lineup includes Stuart Thomas (72.33), Andrew Weathers (73.44), Wes Gosselin (74.11), Brooks Thomas (74.11) and Lake Johnson (74.33). S. Thomas is making his first start of the season.
Chattanooga is coming off its best scoring total of 2016-17. The team turned in an 876 at Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., competing in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. B. Thomas' 212 (-1) was the best of his career.
The North Course plays par 72 at a distance of 7,125 yards. The 16-team field includes the likes of Furman, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, Dayton and Marshall. They'll play 36 holes on Monday before concluding with a final 18 on Tuesday.

The Chattanooga Mocs golf program has won six Southern Conference Championships (1987, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013) since joining the league in 1977-78. The Mocs have twice been ranked No. 1 in the nation during the falls of 2008 and 2009. It boasts:
