The 24th-ranked University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team hits the road for a Sunday dual at No. 6 Virginia Tech. Match time is 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at the Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg, Va.
UTC is coming off a 41-5 win over VMI on Thursday. The Mocs are 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Southern Conference action.
Chattanooga is No. 24 this week in both the Intermat Dual Meet rankings and the USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll.
Virginia Tech is currently No. 6 in this week's USA Today/NWCA Top 25. The Hokies own a 2-0 mark with wins over Edinboro (24-13) and VMI (39-6).

UTC opened the 2016-17 season with a 40-12 win over Southeastern on Chamberlain Field on Saturday, Nov. 5. The Mocs moved outside to post seven wins against the NAIA Fire. UTC scored pins in four of the last five outings to overcome a 12-11 deficit halfway through the match.
Chattanooga followed that with a 41-5 win over VMI at Thursday's Candlelight Dinner Match. The Mocs scored bonus points in seven of nine wins against the Keydets.

Jared Johnson leads the way with a No. 11 national ranking at heavyweight. He is one of five upperclassmen in the bottom half of the lineup. Senior

Heath Eslinger is in his eighth season at UTC. A two-time Southern Conference Coach of the Year, he owns an 88-45 (.662) career dual record. He has guided the Mocs to six SoCon regular season and six SoCon tournament titles and has a 42-2 record in SoCon duals.

Mappes and Epperly have met twice before, both in the 2014-15 season. Epperly posted a 13-2 major decision at the 2014 Hokie Open and an 8-3 win at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
VIRGINIA TECH SERIES
UTC is 7-6 all-time against the Hokie, but have lost five-straight in the series. The last time these two teams met in a dual was a 22-17 win for Virginia Tech on Feb. 17, 2014, in Columbus, Ohio. The last win for UTC was a 26-10 victory on Feb. 9, 2008, in Blacksburg.
