Mocs Media Luncheon - Quotes, Video & Photos

Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team travels to SEC-member South Carolina in the season finale on Saturday with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. ET inside Williams-Brice Stadium. The broadcast is on the SEC Network Alternate channel.

Below are excerpts from today's press conference with photos.  The full videos are attached to the story.  Today's press conference included remarks from head coach Tom Arth, senior defensive lineman Isaiah Mack and senior wide receiver Wil Young.

Wil Young, Sr.-WR
On offense stalling in red zone.
"It's been tough the past couple weeks getting down to the red zone and not being able to capitalize. We were moving the ball well and then just kind of got stuck. You dwell on those games and think of what you could have done to help punch the ball in. Those are tough pills to swallow, but you have move on from it and go into the next game optimistic."

On playing in SEC environment.
"I just remember from playing in stadiums over the past years, I've had a couple experiences in those environments. I'm expecting nothing less at South Carolina, it'll be a great atmosphere."

On expectations for Saturday.
"I think so. We're very excited and humble for this opportunity. We're going to go into the game optimistic and looking to compete. Everyone on the roster always looks forward to the big game of the year and we'll be ready to go out there and compete."

Tom Arth, Head Coach
Recapping Saturday's tough 13-9 loss to Mercer
"It was really a tough day for all of us. Certainly, I thought we played well at times and well enough to win that game. Unfortunately, we gave up some kickoff returns late in the game that led to their scores. That's a situation where, when we took the lead 9-7, that's a call I wish I could have back. That's one where I wish I could go back and re-do. Kick it out of bounds, anything than give #3 from Mercer a chance to return it on us. That's a regret I have. I told our players, there's not many times that as a head coach, you have the game in your hands. In that moment, I had an opportunity to affect the outcome of the game and I didn't make the right decision. That game is 100% on me.,"

On wrapping up the season.
"Once we finish up the year and have a chance to get the guys back, we'll reflect. I'll reflect, our coaches and players will reflect when the season ends until we report back on January 7 for our winter program. We'll have to go back and look at where are we, what have we done well, what areas do we need to improve in. I think we've made great progress. We're one possession away in each game from being 10-0. We were in the hunt for the entirety of this season. The margin of error is so close. I can say we're that close, but can also say we're that far away."

On what to expect facing South Carolina.
"All I know is what we need to do to affect the outcome of this game at South Carolina. We're going to give our team every opportunity that we can to create any advantage for our program. We'll let them know the realistic things that we can focus on, and if can control those, we'll be in the position to compete in this game. That's certainly our goal. You never go into a game not expecting to win and be as successful as you can. We'll go into this week just like every other week."

Isaiah Mack, Sr.-DL
On finishing the season.
"Just trying to finish strong. Coach Arth always preaches that we should treat our games like 15 round fights. I kind of started slow, but wanted to finish this season out swinging. I've been blessed to make some plays and helping the team like I need to do."

On emotions of last collegiate game.
"That's really going to hit me. It didn't hit me on Saturday since I was caught up in the game. It'll be my last college football game. Hopefully I can get about four sacks in front of 80,000 people. so it'll be a storybook ending in a sense."

On playing these types of games and in their environments.
"It's always fun to go play big schools and get your name out there. This is a game I can show that I can play at the next level with anyone on the field. I feel like it affects everyone differently. But I feel like for us a defense, we'll thrive off of it. It'll be a rocking game and I can't wait."
