Bryce Nunnelly was named the to HeroSports.com Sophomore All-American team today. Nunnelly was on the offensive first team after an outstanding season with the Mocs.
Nunnelly was a first team All-Southern Conference pick by the league's media and coaches after finishing second in the SoCon and seventh in the nation with 112.5 receiving yards per game. His 1,237 receiving yards is No. 2 on the Mocs single-season list. He is one of only four in school history with 1,000 receiving yards in a season and the first since Joel Bradford's school record 1,284 in 2010
Nunnelly was also fourth in the SoCon with seven receiving TDs and third in the league and No. 8 in the FCS with 7.2 receptions per game. He tied a school record with six 100-yard games.
Nunnelly started the season hot with STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week, SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week and his second-straight SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honors after posting 10 catches for 268 yards and two TDs at The Citadel. He also threw the game-winning 2-pt. conversion in overtime. That was the most receiving yards in a game since Bradford's school-record 274 (15) in a 36-28 win at No. 25 Furman on Oct. 23, 2010.
