University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis head coach
Chuck Merzbacher announced the addition of Kaisei Kuroki to the roster today. Kuroki played last season at Eastern Illinois University.
"Kaisei has trained at the most famous tennis academy in Europe, the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in Paris," stated Merzbacher. "He has extensive play world-wide and I believe after one year of Division I tennis under his belt, he will add some experience and depth to a young team next year. He has a strong desire to improve his game and I am looking forward to working with him."
A native of Toyoko, Japan, Kuroki, was in the lineup as a true freshman for most of the season at EIU. He played mostly in the middle of the rotation in singles and made seven appearances in doubles.
Prior to joining the Panthers, Kuroki attended the ISP Mouratoglou International School in France where he played for head coach Regis Lavergne. He won tournaments at each age level during his youth career.
Kuroki is a well-traveled individual, having lived in five countries on four different continents. He is yet to decide on a major at UTC.
