PREVIEW: Memphis Intercollegiate Tees Off Monday

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf squad returns to the tee Monday at the Memphis Intercollegiate. The event is a two-day, 54-hole affair at Colonial Country Club, the former long-time home of the PGA TOUR's FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Ten teams converge on Codova, Tenn., in suburban Memphis. The Mocs lineup that qualified after the opening Carpet Capital Collegiate includes just a couple of small, but noteworthy tweaks.

Will Porter, Lake Johnson, Oliver Simonsen and Etienne Brault welcome freshman Alex Cobb to the starting quintet. Cobb is making his first collegiate start, while redshirt freshman Dominic Jones gets a chance as an individual after to being edged out of the lineup in Friday's playoff by Brault.

3 NOTES TO KNOW

The Mocs original schedule included a one-day event Tuesday east of Atlanta. That was cancelled in early September with Guhne quickly shifting finding entry into this tournament.
Colonial Country Club South Course is the former home of the PGA TOUR's FedEx St. Jude Classic from 1958 through 1988 with the current Codova site of the club hosting beginning in 1971. UTC alum and Chattanooga native Gibby Gilbert won the event in 1976.
Will Porter tallied a career-high 14 birdies in the opener at the Farm. Steady effort with four the first day and five each over the final two cards.
