How do you feel, health-wise?
"I feel real good. I don't expect anyone to be at 100% at this point in the season since this is such a physical sport, but I feel good."
On the big plays the offense is getting this season, compared to last year:
"We always knew that we had the big-play potential, but we just weren't hitting them. Now the O-line is giving Nick great protection and we are able to run the ball. That opened up opportunities in the passing game. We are getting big plays in the run game as well. Everything is just working together and big plays are starting to happen."
On being 4-0 at this point in the season:
"It feels good but we can't get comfortable. It is still a long season. We still have all of our goals ahead of us as well. 4-0, being ranked is good, but it doesn't win us the next game. We just have to go 1-0 this week."
On preparing for ETSU:
"I know they are a good team. They are totally different from last year. They have a lot of great athletes and they are well-coached and disciplined. They are going to give us their best shot."
Senior QB C.J. Fritz.

On giving up big leads this season:
"It is more so on the defense doing more of the details, instead of playing lazy and casual in the fourth quarter. We have to clean things up, technique-wise, and just focus on the details."
On fighting off the comfort factor when you get up two scores:
"Our offense is doing great, so it is on us to finish the games and play better in those situations."
On facing ETSU:
"They are more balanced than what we have seen. Samford throws the ball 80 times a game. Before that we played The Citadel with the triple option. Now we get a balanced look. They do more of a protection pass and zone runs. We have to make sure we are hitting on all cylinders to stop it."
On being 4-0 and ranked 20th:
"It feels good, but like Bingo said, we just need to be 1-0 each week. We have to continue to get better every day in practice."

Opening Statement:
"In recapping our game last weekend, there were a lot of positive things. There were also some negative things. I think, for me, the story of that game was we had four takeaways on the defensive side of the ball that only resulted in seven points for our offense.
"That is something that we need to do a better job of. Playing with the lead at the end of the game in the fourth quarter, we only possessed the ball for three minutes in the fourth quarter. We didn't do a good enough job in that area. It allowed Samford an opportunity to come back and it all stems from not running the ball the way that we need to. I think we would have finished some drives. I think we certainly could have possessed the ball better towards then end of the game and limited their opportunities had we been able to run it better.
"I thought those were some of the things we needed to work on. Overall, I loved the way we started the game. If you looked at our opening possessions, first three on offense and defense were really positive. Defensively getting a three and out, forced fumble and interception in the first three drives. I thought that was really great to see."
On the 4-0 start:
"It is a great start. We are very, very pleased with where we are. We are excited about the opportunities that we have. Now, every game becomes that much more critical, because of the position we have put ourselves in.
"Looking back, seasons are not defined in September. Seasons are defined in October, November and beyond. Our players need to understand that. What we are going to remember about this season and what is going to define us is yet to come."
On playing ETSU:
"I think that anytime you are playing a school that is in-state, it means a lot. A lot of these guys probably played against each other in high school at certain points, or know of each other from the same area. That does mean a lot. Then you add in that it is a conference game as well and both teams are doing well in the conference. It means a lot and is a big opportunity for both programs. We are excited for it."
