CHATTANOOGA---The day is almost here. The coveted moment the Chattanooga Mocs look forward to every November…opening night. The Mocs are on the road to Eastern Kentucky beginning season No. 99 on Tuesday night.

The usual applies. Voice of the Mocs Jim Reynolds is back for his 40th year behind the mic. You can hear his call on WFLI 97.7 FM/1070 AM or via the TuneIn app. Fans can also fire up ESPN+ on their television, smart phones, tablets or computers to watch with EKU's radio team providing the broadcast talent.

But it's lights…camera…action for this squad. Three starters and six total letter winners are back. A couple of power 5 transfers and several talented freshmen join two transfers who sat out last season. There's a lot be excited about with this roster.

We shared a positional analysis over the last three weeks leading up this blessed occasion. It started with the versatility in the post. That was followed by the potential at the point and finally the diversity and depth on the wing.

Three quick notes to know ahead of gameday…
- 31-11 during the DI era in season openers: 22-0 at home, 5-10 away and 4-1 on a neutral floor. More on page 4 of the notes package linked above.
- The Mocs are one of the most diverse teams in the nation. The squad is one of 33 with four or more international student-athletes and among 24 with four or more foreign countries represented: Spain (Ramon Vila), Mexico (Alex Tostado), Nigeria (Prosper Obidiebube) & Serbia (Stefan Kenić). More on page 6 of the notes package.
- Experience is a key ingredient Coach Lamont Paris has not been afforded in his first two seasons at Chattanooga. Three returning starters are two more than the last two campaigns combined - 2017 (0) & 2018 (1). Six returning letter winners matches last two seasons combined - 2017 (5) & 2018 (1). More on page 4 of the notes package.

Following Tuesday's contest, the Mocs return to the friendly confines of McKenzie Arena to prepare for the home opener that Saturday against historic rival Tennessee State. The ladies take on Hampton at 2 p.m., that day before two of Tennessee's finest programs over the years square off at 4:30 p.m.
