Will Porter and the Chattanooga Mocs head to Mississippi ending the regular season at the Old Waverly Collegiate.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team ends its regular season this coming week at the Old Waverly Collegiate. It's the final tune-up before the Southern Conference Championships the following week at Pinehurst No. 9.
This is the squad's sixth trip to Old Waverly Club in West Point, Miss. It's a strong 15-team field that awaits headlined by No. 4 Vanderbilt. The lads are looking to make a strong turn towards SoCon play.
The Mocs are 6-time league champions claiming titles in 1987, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 with close calls in 2014, 2016 and 2018. It's a process the youthful squad worked for throughout the campaign as Coach Mark Guhne and assistant Ryan Heisey guided two seniors, a junior, three sophomores and four freshmen to this point with eight of the 10 on the ledger registering more than 20 rounds.
The two-day, 54-hole event starts Monday with 36 holes before wrapping up with a final 18 on Tuesday. Tee times and scores, when available, can be accessed at the links above.

- Four different pairs of Mocs carded 60s in a round this season: Oliver Simonsen (64)/Will Porter (66), Memphis Rd1; Simonsen (63)/Alex Cobb (69), Memphis Rd3; Simonsen (66)/Etienne Brault (66), Hummingbird Rd1; Dominic Jones (67)/Leon Bader (69), UNCG Martin Downs Rd3.
- Simonsen is chasing the first under par season since 2012 sitting at 10 over to date. Only two Mocs - Stephan Jaeger '12 and Jonathan Hodge '09 managed par or better for a season. Jaeger was 22 under in 2011-12 and -1 in 2010-11, while Hodge went 9 under in 2007-08.
- Eight cards of 5 under or better so far. 16 total cards in the 60s this season: Simonsen 9, Brault 2, Porter 1, Nolan 1, Bader 1, Cobb 1 & Jones 1. Simonsen's nine rounds in the 60s ties him for third with Hodge ('08). Jaeger's 13 in 2011-12 is the record followed by Derek Rende's 10 in 2007-08.
