CHATTANOOGA --- Coming off an emotional series victory to conclude the regular season, the No. 3 seed Chattanooga Mocs softball team sets its sights toward the postseason with this week's Southern Conference Championship Tournament held at Jim Frost Stadium from May 8-11.

UTC hosts the tournament for the 11th time in program history, most among all SoCon members. The winner claims the league's automatic berth into this year's NCAA Tournament.

Chattanooga (33-14, 11-7 SoCon) looks to claim its 14th SoCon Tournament title and make its 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament this week. Earning the No. 3 seed, the hosts will square off with No. 6 Furman (13-36, 5-12 SoCon) in the opening round on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The Mocs defeated the Paladins two out of three games during their SoCon-opening series back on March 23 and 24. Furman ousted Chattanooga in last year's edition of the SoCon Tournament in Greensboro, N.C.
