University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football standout Bryce Nunnelly is one of 53 student-athletes on the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) 22nd Annual Academic All-Star Team.

Representatives from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions are eligible for the award. Each of the nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials.

They must have reached their second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. They also must have participated in 50 percent (50%) of the games played at their designated position.

Nunnelly, a junior receiver from Cleveland, Tenn., carries a 3.73 GPA in Mechanical Engineering.  He is a two-time first team All-Southern Conference honoree and an Academic All-American.  On the field, he has 2,120 career receiving yards with 12 TDs and 143 catches.  That puts him ninth all-time at UTC in receptions and fourth in career receiving yards.

Last season, Nunnelly led the Mocs and was third in the SoCon with 66.2 receiving yards per game.  He was also fourth in the league with 4.8 receptions per contest and had three 100-yards games.

A special Review Committee of FCS athletics directors was responsible for selecting the 2019 All-Star Team and FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship finalists. This year's Review Committee consisted of: Kent Haslam, University of Montana (Chair); Ashley Robinson, Jackson State University; Nicki Moore, Colgate University; Tom Michael, Eastern Illinois University; Bill Smith, Bryant University.

This is the 13^th time a Moc has been named to the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team, and the first since Derrick Craine and Hunter Townson in 2016.  The full list of past honorees is available below.
