Quotable
"We were able to sign the high school kids we wanted to. We've got 17 total high school kids, which is always important to us. Two are here with us, so there are 15 coming in the first of June. The transfers we were able to add and get them into school and get them here (for the spring) helped a lot as well. We were able to add some depth in some places and some competition. Those who stayed this year are a big key component of it too." –Â
Coach Rusty Wright on where the roster stands today
"The biggest thing was it let us continue to keep growing some rooms. We're able to attack the o-line and d-line rooms, which is always important for us. We got some more length in the building. We added in the secondary guys, which was important, and another wide receiver, which was huge. I think they're all guys that have tremendous upsides for them. We were able to flip some guys that were committed to some places and get some good players in here." –Â
Wright on the high school additions made in December and today
"We were able to bring in some guys to compete in a bunch of different areas. It may change the dynamics of how we do some things. I think the biggest thing is we were able to bring guys in that played a lot. That was a big deal for us this go around. Everybody in this group had played football somewhere. Hopefully we're a little faster and a little better." –Â
Wright on the transfer portal
"This is pretty much going to be it. We may add one or two more...maybe. But, it's not going to be anything like it was last year in May or June. We pretty much got our guys here, and we get to go figure out our football team from this point forward." –Â
Wright on what's ahead
