ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
CHATTANOOGA--- The Chattanooga Mocs depart the Scenic City after a successful 3-game homestand moving into a tie for fifth with Wofford in a crowded top half of the league standings, just 1.5 games behind league leaders Furman and ETSU. Next up is a quick trip to UNCG. The Spartans are 14-5 overall, 4-2 in the SoCon just ahead of the Mocs and Terriers in fourth. Wofford and Furman play Friday night.
The Mocs are led by the trio of
Matt Ryan (14.8 ppg),
David Jean-Baptiste (13.7) and
Ramon Vila (10.8). They totaled 49 of the 72 in Wednesday's 72-59 win over Wofford.
The Spartans are paced by one of the SoCon's top talents in Isaiah Miller. He posts 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Kaleb Hunter adds 10.2 points, while James Dickey ranks as one of the league's dominant inside presences with 8.8 rebounds (2nd) and 1.8 blocks (1st) per contest. Eight UNCG players score six or more per game.

- Hot-shooting home stand topping 50 percent in all three games. The Mocs shot 53.4 percent (95-178) overall including 46.6 percent (34-73) beyond the arc. That's the best 3-game stretch from the field since 100 of 168 (59.5%) Dec. 6-17, 2016 in wins over Marshall (58.2%), Tennessee Wesleyan (61.9%) and a 2-point defeat at Vanderbilt (53.7%). The last with four in a row at 50 percent or better? Feb. 3-12, 2007: at Georgia Southern (50.0%), at Davidson (54.3%), The Citadel (50.0%) & at Western Carolina (51.9%).
- Limited opponents to 60 or fewer points in seven games (6-1). UNCG is 9-0 when holding opponents to 60 or fewer, 3-1 scoring 60 or less. The Spartans lead the SoCon in scoring defense at 59.6 points per game.
- The Mocs lead the Southern Conference in defensive rebound percentage (.759) with UNCG (.743) second. The Spartans are also second in offensive rebound percentage (.340).
