The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team dropped a 29-9 dual match at Virginia tonight.  UTC won three matches in the loss to the Cavaliers in Memorial Gym in Charlottes, Va.

The Mocs only trailed 10-9 after the first six bouts, but UVa scored bonus points in the last four for the 20-point win. 

Sophomore Tanner Smith scored a 7-3 decision over Michael Murphy at 149.  Smith came into the weekend No. 23 in the Flo rankings and improved his overall record to 17-6.

Sophomore Drew Nicholson scored a nice 4-1 win over Krystian Kinsey at 165 to move to 9-11.  Sophomore Hunter Fortner nearly followed that with an upset at 174.  He lost to No. 22 Victor Marcelli 3-1 in overtime. 

Sophomore Matthew Waddell, ranked No. 21 this week, scored the Mocs' final win at 184.  He defeated Michael Battista 7-2 to improve to 14-7.
