The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team completed the fall portion of its 2020-21 season with the conclusion of the UTC Invite today.  The Mocs split 12 matches with UAB to cap off the three-day event at the UTC Tennis Center. 

Chattanooga got off to a hot start, winning all three of the opening doubles matches.  Junior Bogdana Zaporozhets and freshman Jessie Young won their seventh in a row with a 6-4 victory against Adela Wasserbauerova and Dominika Hrabalova.

Junior Emma Van Hee and Caroline Gibbens scored a 6-2 win over Sydney Clarke and Jana Hecking.  Freshman Callie Billman and sophomore Lilly Holmes were the first featured match on the ESPN+ broadcast.  They scored a quick 6-1 win over Megan Bertrands and Maggie White.

Gibbens and Van Hee improved to 6-2 with their fourth win in a row in the second set of doubles.  They beat Hecking and Bertrands 6-3.

Singles was a battle with the first set in the first three matches going to a tiebreaker.  The Mocs pulled out two of the six overall, led by Van Hee's win over Wasserbauerova (7-6 (4), 6-0).  Billman had the other win in straight sets over Hrabalova (6-3, 7-5).

"We had a great day today," stated head coach Chad Camper. "I feel we accomplished everything we needed for the fall. The team worked hard through great diversity and came out on top in many matches."
