TEAM
- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball team score an 80-70 win over MTSU today … the Mocs moved to 4-0 while the Blue Raiders dropped to 1-3.
- UTC is 4-0 for the eighth time in school history … first time at 4-0 since 1987-88 when the Mocs started 5-0 … just the second 4-0 start in the DI era (since 1977-78). Â
- UTC is 34-32 all-time against MTSU … 10-23 in Murfreesboro … first win in Murfreesboro for UTC since a 75-73 (OT) victory on Dec. 18, 1976 … Mocs had lost five in a row at MTSU.Â
- Program is one wins shy of 800 for the DI era (44th season/since 1977-78).
- Mocs opened the game on an 11-2 run … led 44-39 at the break … MTSU led 62-59 with 9:47 left to play before UTC went on an 8-0 run over the next two minutes to take control of the game … outscored MTSU 21-8 to close the game.Â
- Won for the second time when allowing 50% or better from the field this season … came into the year 3-25 under
Lamont Paris when allowing 50% or better from the field. Â
- UTC was 21-26 (80.8%) from the FT line … MTSU was 4-9 (.444).Â
- Mocs won the battle on the boards 35-30 … outscored MTSU 11-7 on second-chance points … Blue Raiders won the paint 32-26.
- Mocs have won four in a row on the road dating back to last season … 6-1 in last seven road games.

- Tied for game-high with five assists.

- 8+ points in each game this season off the bench.
David Jean-Baptiste – Sr.-G
- Game-high 20 points.
- Shot 6-19 from the field, 2-9 from three and 6-6 from the FT line.
- Back-to-back 20-point games … last time a Moc had back-to-back 20-point games was
Ramon Vila at the end of last season … he had 21 against UNCG in the regular season finale on Feb. 29 and 20 against the Spartans in the SoCon Tournament on March 7. Â

- Eight rebounds shy of 300 and 14 steals from 100 … that will make him just the fourth Moc with 1,000 points, 300 rebounds, 200 assists & 100 steals.

- Tied season-high with 17 points.
- Shot 6-12 from the floor, 2-5 from three and 3-5 from the FT line.
- Double-figures in all four games this season.
- Added five boards and two assists.
Malachi Smith – So.-G
- Third double-double of the season with 18 points and a game-high 13 boards.
- Came into the game leading the SoCon in rebounding (10.7 rpg).
- Shot 5-9 from the field, 1-2 from three and 7-7 from the FT line.
- Added four assists.
