CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs hit the road again traveling to Spartanburg, S.C., for a Saturday night tussle at Wofford. The Mocs are looking for their first win in South Carolina's upstate region since a 73-65 triumph on Feb. 11, 2017 against the Terriers.

Chattanooga won the first meeting in convincing fashion with a little nerves thrown in. The Mocs led by as many as 30 in McKenzie Arena before Wofford closed to within 12 late in a 72-59 win for the home team. David Jean-Baptiste led the way with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Matt Ryan (17) and Ramon Vila (14) also reached double figures. Nathan Hoover led all scorers with 20 for Wofford.

The Mocs limited the Terriers to 20 points in the first 20 minutes, a season low for an opponent. That was the fewest by an opponent since 14 for Alabama State on Nov. 20, 2017 (67-50 win). Lowest in a SoCon game since 17 at home to Mercer on Feb. 25, 2017 (64-54 loss).

It's the 43rd meeting between the two schools with the Mocs leading 24-18. The 43 games are the fewest against any Southern Conference opponent ahead of UNCG (46) and Wednesday night's opponent VMI (58). The squad is playing for the sixth regular season sweep of the Terriers since they joined the league in 1997-98. Also swept a home-and-home non-conference series in 1996-97.

The 7 p.m., tipoff in Richardson Indoor Stadium airs on ESPN+ as well over the airwaves locally on WFLI 1070 AM/97.7 FM and the TuneIn app. It is also available on the SoCon Nexstar package in various markets outside the Chattanooga area (Charleston, Johnson City, Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville).

3 NOTES TO KNOW
- The triumph over Wofford in the first matchup snapped a 5-game losing skid to the Terriers which followed a 5-game win streak for the Mocs. 5-5 in the last 10.
- A.J. Caldwell has five or more rebounds in six of the last nine games (5.0 rpg). Happened just once (6 vs VMI on Dec. 9, 2018) in his first 38 games (2.0 rpg). Thirty-eight of the 45 boards in the last nine came on defensive glass.
- 6-7 in games played away from the Roundhouse (4-7 road/2-0 neutral). The Mocs have played .500 or better away from the natural loveliness of Gig City 12 times in the DI era with the last coming in 2015-16's school-record 29-6 run (16-5).
