Run Support Lacks in 2-1 Loss to Charleston Southern

Chattanooga softball junior pitcher Allison Swinford allowed just one earned run while striking out seven despite suffering a complete game loss on Sunday.

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- For the third consecutive game, the Chattanooga Mocs softball team produced minimal offense and found itself on the wrong end of a one-run game after dropping a 2-1 decision to Charleston Southern on the final day of the Holy City Showdown in Charleston, S.C.

Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 5-10 overall this season. CSU improved its yearly mark to 7-7 after the win.

Chattanooga stranded six runners on base for the game and lacked the much-needed crucial hit to back up junior pitcher Allison Swinford's strong outing. Swinford (2-5) allowed seven hits and one earned run while striking out seven in a complete game effort.
