ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
OPELIKA, Ala.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team made it around the Grand National Lake Course at 2-under 286 Tuesday. That moved the Mocs up into a tie for 11th with 45th-ranked Arkansas State with a total of 881.
The effort was led by
Will Porter and
A.J. Lintunen with two 70s.
Matt Smith and
Leon Bader closed the counting scorers with 73s, while
Oliver Simonsen provided the drop score of 78.
Porter ended up tied for eighth at 2-under 214. It's his fourth career top 10 and second lowest 54-hole score of the season. The performance lowered his spring scoring average to 72.33 and his season mark to 73.13 strokes per 18.
Lintunen ended up tied for 17th with 1-over 217. It's his fourth top 20 in 2019-20. He continues an impressive run averaging 72.27 per 18 over his last 15 cards.
Auburn took it low today with 277. They ended up 11 strokes ahead of 36-hole leader ULM. North Alabama's Jackson Wedgeworth earned medalist honors at 9-under 207.
The Mocs return to tee March 20-22 at the Linger Longer Invitational on the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
