CLEARWATER, Fla. --- Junior pitcher
Allison Swinford allowed no earned runs and just three hits during a complete game, 3-1, victory over Western Michigan to help lift the Chattanooga Mocs softball team to a doubleheader split on the opening day of the Clearwater Tournament on Friday at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.
Chattanooga (6-11) fell in the opening game of the day, 1-0, to Seton Hall (7-12) before securing the victory over Western Michigan (3-15). It marks the fifth time this season where UTC has split a doubleheader in a single day.

Celie Hudson and
Allison Swinford have combined to allow just three earned runs over the last 36.2 innings, striking out 34 in the process. Swinford has allowed one earned runs in her last 16.2 innings while striking out 15 and Hudson has surrendered two runs in her last 20.0 innings while striking out 19.

Emily Coltharp went a combined 4-for-5 on Friday, extending her hit streak to four games. She went 3-for-3 in the win over Western Michigan and 1-for-2 with a walk against Seton Hall. She notched her eighth multi-hit game of the season and raised her average to a SoCon-best .429 (23-for-54).
