CHATTANOOGA --- One of the most decorated and accomplished scholastic recruiting classes in Chattanooga Mocs volleyball program history added to its resume with recent national recognition and ranking from PrepVolleyball.com.
The 2020 class slotted as one of 40 "Honorable Mentions" to PrepVolleyball.com's top 30 recruiting classes in the country. In all, Chattanooga secured a top 100 overall national ranking and was the only Southern Conference representative on the list.
"As a staff, we truly felt like when we completed our 2020 recruiting class, it was a top 50-100 class in the country, and the most extensive and well-known juniors volleyball online publication, PrepVolleyball agrees," said head coach
Travis Filar.
"This is a talented, skilled, athletic, decorated, and hard-working class who have won at very high levels, want to be great, and help bring Chattanooga Volleyball back to the top of the Southern Conference. However, even more importantly, these individuals have strong character, are selfless teammates, driven competitors, and come from incredible families."
The class consists of:
Sophia Bossong,
Sarah Flynn,
Paige Gallentine,
Emma Perkins,
Hayden McGee and

"This group will make our team as deep as we have ever been in my time at Chattanooga, and we believe all of them will compete to impact us on the court as freshmen. Rankings and recognitions are important, but they do not mean much if you are not willing to sacrifice to put in the time and effort to be different.
"I think that if this group does just that, they will make us better on and off the court, strengthen our culture, and be a class that will improve our program for their entire careers," Filar concluded.
