Mocs Mourn the Passing of Adam Miller

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team mourns the loss of former offensive lineman Adam Miller, who died suddenly earlier this week.  Miller, 30, was a four-year starter for the Mocs from 2009-12.

Miller started 40 games at right tackle, including the last 29-straight, during his career at UTC.  He was a team captain as a senior in 2012, when he was also named second team All-Southern Conference.

He also excelled in the classroom as a construction management major.  He was a four-time Academic All-SoCon honoree and the first Moc to be a two-time CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District recipient and two-time member of the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family," stated UTC head football coach Rusty Wright.  "He was a good football player, who was well-like and respected by his teammates and coaches.  I hate it for everyone involved."

According to the obituary from the Chattanoogan.com, Adam married Cara Holden Miller on October 22, 2016. Together they have a one-year-old daughter, Maddie Drew, and are expecting a son in October.

A private service is set for Adam on Sunday, May 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Stuart Heights Baptist Church. Due to social distancing stipulations, the service will be live streamed on the Legacy Funeral Home Facebook.

While flowers are welcome, the family also asks for any donations to go to a memorial fund created for Adam's children. Contributions can be sent electronically through Venmo by searching for Adam Miller Memorial Fund, or through the CashApp using by the following information: "$AMillerMemorialFund".

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Share your memories, stories, and photos at www.legacyfuneralhome.com.
