Dominic Jones and the Chattanooga Mocs get right back into action this weekend at the J.T. Poston Invitational.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf program feels like it just finished the Scenic City Collegiate. There is no rest for the weary as the Mocs head to Lake Hartwell, Ga., for the J.T. Poston Invitational.
The three-day, 54-hole event tackles Cateechee Golf Course Sunday through Tuesday. Seven teams in total test the par 71, 6,570-yard tract. It's a complete change from the Honors Course which played at a length of nearly 7,300 yards. The format is the same as earlier in the week with six starters playing in two threesomes per team as a precaution against COVID-19 and potential contact tracing issues.
Two Mocs made the lineup by way of their play at the Scenic City Collegiate. A.J. Lintunen (T5) and Dominic Jones (T18) are joined by qualifiers Oliver Simonsen, Matt Smith, Leon Bader and Connor Nolan. The quartet made the starting list by virtue of qualifying rounds at Council Fire and Lookout Mountain Golf Clubs on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Moritz Lammel is playing as an individual.
"Our guys are excited to get right back out there," Coach Mark Guhne explained. "This is a totally different styled course. It's a good challenge for us and honestly, in the current times, we're grateful for the opportunity to compete.
"We gave ourselves an opportunity this week. We didn't get the finish we hoped for, but I'd like to see us in position again on Tuesday. This group is hungry and ready to get back on the course."

- A.J. Lintunen had a good start to the fall with a career-best tie for fifth finish. His second round 69 tied his low 18-hole score as a Moc. It was his fourth score in the 60s and second career top 10.
- Dominic Jones also had a career-best finish tying for 18th at the Honors Course.
- Lintunen is averaging 72.39 strokes per round over his last 18 cards turning in consistent 54 holes scores of 216, 218, 215, 217, 217 & 220.
