ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
LAKE HARTWELL, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs are tied for fourth after 18 holes of the J.T. Poston Invitational. The Mocs 1-under 283 was matched by Southern Conference-rival Mercer.
Oliver Simonsen and
Connor Nolan led the way with 1-under par 70s.
A.J. Lintunen added a level-par 71 with 1-over 72 by
Matt Smith and
Leon Bader rounding out the team tally.
Dominic Jones carded 75 for the starting lineup, while
Moritz Lammel shot 73 as an individual.
The duo of Simonsen and Nolan is tied for sixth. The Mocs top five all rank in the top 15 overall. Today's round is the first of three.
Host Western Carolina leads with an 8-under 276. That's ahead by two over Appalachian State with the Mocs and Bears lurking in third. The Catamounts' Pierre Viallaneix is the individual leader with 64.
