There's a lot going on Saturday. It's UTC Family Weekend. It's Band Day with more than 500 area high school band students visiting to play with the Marching Mocs. But the biggest news of all…
The first 1,000 fans get a rally towel courtesy of Dr Pepper and all fans are encouraged to wear white. Regular tailgating includes the fun kid zone area with inflatables, photo opportunities and other games along with visits from Scrappy and the spirits squads.

This is the 47th meeting all-time with our friends from the Smokies. The good guys lead the Cats 29-17.

The Mocs defense has been stout after a tough start limiting opponents to limit opponents to less than 300 yards total offense (298.0) and 20 points per game (19.3).
5) Three Notes to Notice
- Last meeting in Finley (9/28/19) featured 96 points (60-36), 823 rushing yards (400/423), 263 passing yards (189/74) and 1,086 total (589/497).
- Earliest bye week since 2014 (Sept. 20). 17-15 as a DI program off the bye. There are 12 seasons during that span with no week off: 1977-79, 1981-82, 1987-90, 2004 or 2006. Last time playing Western Carolina after a week off? Nov. 1, 2007, a 27-7 loss. 1-2 vs. Catamounts all-time coming off bye, 1-0 in Chattanooga. Last 10 games off bye? 7-3
- RB Tyrell Price's next TD is No. 15 on the ground, 16th overall. He's five short of the top 10 all-time. He has 1,106 yards rushing in his career. Price had 135 yards on 29 carries with a TD in his one matchup against WCU coming in a 26-6 win in Cullowhee in 2018.
