ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn.--- The Chattanooga Mocs finished the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate just the way it started. The group shot 2-under 286 for the third straight day for an 858 total.
Braedon Wear led the way with 6-under 66. It came on a spotless card opening with an eagle and adding four birdies to go with 13 pars.
Paul Conroy fired 2-under 70 for his third straight par or better card. He and Wear led the quintet with 3-under 213 over the three days.
Connor Nolan levelled out with 72. It kept him at even for the tourney with 216.
Matt Smith's 78 closed the counting cards with
Gabe Hunter dropping 70.
Leon Bader impressed as an individual with 4-under 68. Bader was just behind Nolan at 1 over for the 54 holes. Hunter turned in 220 with 226 by Smith.
It's been a strong run over the last six rounds. The Mocs are 21 under over their last 108 holes averaging 282.5 strokes per round. This week's 858 came in 11th, seven clear of Maryland in 12th and five shy of N.C. State in 10th.
Host ETSU claimed the win by six over Charlotte and Louisville. Georgia Southern's Ben Carr won medalist with 13-under 203.
Chattanooga has two weeks to prep for the next one. It's an exciting trip to…west Chattanooga. Next up is the fall finale at the Battle at Black Creek. Black Creek Club hosts its second collegiate event, first for the men, October 25-26.
